Damn this date. Every Dec 8th I can’t help but think of where I was at when I heard.  Get Back only heightened the anger and confusion over what happened.

It’s odd to think the Beatles had only been broken up for 10 years when this happened…to a 13 year old at the time…that was a lifetime but in reality it’s nothing.

Since second grade, I’d been listening to the Beatles. While a lot of kids I knew listened and talked about modern music …I just couldn’t relate as much. By the time I was ten I had read every book about The Beatles I could get my hands on. In a small middle TN town…it wasn’t too many. I was after their generation but I knew the importance of what they did…plus just great music. The more I got into them the more I learned about the Who, Stones, and the…

The Greatest Gift

Rescue

Become the hero

A home

A permanent home

Food

Water

Companionship

Snuggles

Rides in the car

Walks in the park

Unconditional love

Goes both ways

You do everything you can

To take care of them

You’re their entire world

And they’re yours

Yet the greatest gift of all

You could ever give them

Is when they look you in the eyes

And tell you it’s time

Bad Driving Tip #6

Incompetent and Insane Drivers:

Welcome to my personal rant that gets me fired up traveling to and from work, and really, anywhere in between.  I struggle with other people sharing my roadways.  Thanks Dad!  In an effort to not take part in a road rage incident, I’ve decided to express my frustrations in a healthier manner.  Right here.  For you.

Person A:  You won’t be happy until you are the only person driving out there.

Me:  How do we make that happen?

Offense:  Tapping on the breaks when you are deemed too close to their back bumper

Tip:  Step on the gas or pull over and get out of the way!

This happens more often in my laid back and rural state than in a more populated area, I find.  Someone going 37 miles per hour in a 50-mph zone, gets offended because I am behind them, so they slam on their breaks to get me to back off.  However, this tactic rarely works with me.  In this situation, I will give you miles of the most concentrated driving I can possibly give, because I will drive to within an inch of that bumper and stay there.

One year ago crazy Debbie created The Ridiculous Burger. With a year of cooking experience she decided to revisit this recipe and add a twist: homemade, deepfried battered burgers. With new seasoning for the steak and the burgers this really is new and improved!

This video is just under 5 minutes long so sit back, relax and enjoy.

THIS DATE IN BASEBALL HISTORY-DECEMBER 7, 1937 BOSTON RED SOX ACQUIRE THE RIGHTS TO TED WILLIAMS FROM SAN DIEGO PADRES OF PACIFIC COAST LEAGUE

The greatest, purest hitter of all time!

No. 19, Ted Williams, LF, San Diego Padres – Society for American Baseball Research

This Date In Baseball History- the Boston Red Sox acquire the rights to a 19 year old outfielder Ted Williams of the San Diego Padres of the Pacific Coast League. A year or so earlier the Red Sox general manager Eddie Collins was out west scouting a second baseman Bobby Doerr. While on that trip he caught a glimpse of a young Ted Williams. He was impressed with what he saw and on December 7, 1937 the Red Sox Collins struck a deal with the Padres [not to be confused with the San Diego Padres of today who wouldn’t exist until 1969] – sending them $35,000 and two players Dom Dallessandro and Al Niemiec. The 19 year old Williams would spend the 1938 season in the minors for the Red Sox before making his major league debut in 1939. Ted Williams would go on to become perhaps the greatest hitter…

On History: ‘Remember Pearl Harbor’ – 80 Years After

Alex Diaz-Granados's avatarA Certain Point of View, Too

Hi there, Dear Reader. It’s late morning here in Lithia, Florida on Tuesday, December 7, 2021. It is a chilly day – for Florida, at any rate - and a grey, dimly lit one at that. Currently, the temperature is 68˚F (20˚C) under mostly cloudy skies and dense fog. With humidity at 100% and the wind blowing from the southeast at 1 MPH (1 KM/H), the feels-like temperature is 65˚F (18˚C). Today’s forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies and a high of 81˚F (27˚C). Tonight, cloudy skies will continue and the low will be 59˚F (15˚C).

Today marks the 80th Anniversary of the Japanese surprise attack on Pearl Harbor Naval Base and other U.S. military bases – including Hickam and Wheeler Army Air Fields and the Kaneohe Bay Naval Air Station on Oahu, an island it what was – on December 7, 1941 – the Territory of Hawaii. On…

People

People have been given their chance

A golden opportunity

For centuries and centuries

To get it right

To do what’s expected of them

Time and time again…….

They fail

Miserably

More prevalent now than ever

No, people have had their chance

It’s time for something else to get an opportunity

Time for new blood

Take the cover off the barrel

Let the chimps out

THE ZOMBIES TO PERFORM IN FALL RIVER, MASS.

The Zombies are one of my favorite bands from the 60s. Go to this show if you’re in the area!

limelightmagazine's avatarLimelight Magazine

Iconic British psychedelic pop legends The Zombies are back to celebrate their long-awaited Induction into The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, with a new album in the works and their 2022 “Life Is A Merry-Go-Round” Tour, which will make a stop at the Narrows Center in Fall River, MA, on May 1, 2022. Purchase tickets HERE.

After receiving their fourth nomination in 5 years, the support for The Zombies’ induction among the public and their peers was undeniable – the band placed 4th in the public online poll with over 330,000 votes, while even fellow nominee John Prine called for their induction before his own in a Billboard interview. On March 29, 2019, at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, The Zombies joined Stevie Nicks, Radiohead, The Cure, Def Leppard, Janet Jackson, and Roxy Music as the 2019 Class of The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Fittingly, the Induction Ceremony…
