To process our feelings means to fall further behind
To validate them assumes weakness
The world has no time for self rehabilitation
Selfishness
Hatred
Ignorance without the desire to learn
Fighting each other instead of the inflictions
The world requires us to be that way
But I’m fed up with having to be this way
People are dying
Burying loved ones
Going hungry
Anxious
Depressed
Accosted by the zip of what is today’s world
Accidents, fires, shootings
Claim the unexpected and innocent
Families shattered in a second
Lives never to be the same
A devastating diagnosis
The unimaginable task of living out a death sentance
The endgame already well understood
Shaming
Body shaming, gender shaming, orientation shaming, class shaming
Bullying
Sadness, Hopelessness, Suicide
But…….
What about me?
What about my needs?
My hardships?
Susie looked at me funny
My boss asked me to DO SOMETHING at work today
Isn’t it my right to be entitled?
To worry about what’s best for me?
I want to sit and play on social media at the office all day
I’ll collect my paycheck every week, though
Sure, I care about those other people
You know, the ones that are dying and stuff
