Unsolved murder mystery

History Out There

Screams in the night and bloodstains on the grass resulted in one of the most intense investigations in Ipswich history. The mystery remains unsolved 85 years later. I told a version of the story live on West Bremer Radio.

At around 8pm on Thursday the 16th of September 1937, Patrick Farrell of Goodna in Ipswich, Queensland, noticed a car drive along what was then the country road where he lived. It stopped at the corner a short distance from the railway bridge in a lonely part of Woogaroo Street.

After a short while, Farrell heard a woman screaming. As he approached the car, two men hurriedly jumped inside, started the engine, and swiftly drove away. When Farrell reached the spot, he saw two pools of fresh blood on the ground. He called the police.

Gerald

Gerald, you did it

The trifecta plus one

Just six weeks old

All because you had enough

You thought you could obliterate them

Like they never existed

The world knows you did it

Your actions indefensible

Ah, but that technicality

It’s saved you, Gerald

Only in this country could a savage such as you escape

Gerald, you did it

You’re actually living the high life

But are you?

How’s your neck feel, Gerald?

From watching your back

Remember your former extended family?

The ones you caused great anguish?

They’re still hurt, Gerald

And they’re angry

Do you know what happens to anger and hurt that festers for decades?

It generates determination

Persistence

They’re not going away, Gerald

They’re coming for you

And if the one technicality that is your lifeline ever erodes…….

The Disappearance of Pamela Faith Roach

Stories of the Unsolved

EARLY LIFE:

Pamela Faith Roach, who went by her middle name, was born on June 9, 1992. She lived in Walhalla, Oconee County, South Carolina, a small town in the Blue Mountain foothills region with just over 4,200 residents.

When Faith was 11 years old, she and a friend were riding a go-kart on a dirt road when they were struck by a car. Her friend died, but Faith survived, suffering a shattered leg, a traumatic brain injury and other wounds. She was hospitalized on life support and in a coma, and had to undergo surgery to place a metal rod in her leg. According to her mother, Cindy Clark Hanvey, the accident changed Faith, turning her from a quiet, shy girl into someone who was outspoken and attention-seeking.

Faith was…
