Guillermo Del Toro is one of those filmmakers I have absolute faith in. I have been a fan of his work for a long time ever since I was a teenager. I watched Hellboy and Blade II religiously and thought Pan’s Labyrinth was a masterpiece. I still wish he made The Hobbit back when Peter Jackson wasn’t initially going to direct what was supposed to be two films. Guillermo Del Toro is a filmmaker with a clear and precise vision. The way he looks at the world and presents it in his films is authentic and fantastical at the same time. The look and the tone of his films is dark, strange, and magical. An imaginative and creative storyteller and more importantly, a lover of cinema. This is something you can clearly see in all his films.
