Gaslight (Alternate Version)

An alternate version to the post Gas Light

My whole world changed because of a gas light

Oh, how I cursed when I first recognized it

I had something to do

Exactly what that was I no longer recall

I probably had enough to make it

I gave that more than a passing thought

Chagrined, I decided not to leave it to chance

I pulled in

You were inside

You insist it didn’t happen that way

You give affection and then take it back

I apologize for your behaviors

I question whether anything I say is correct

You know my motives better than I

You insist I need therapy

Isn’t it funny how a simple choice can change one’s life forever?

25 years later I still curse that old gas light

Right honey?
